The Managed DNS service utilizes the same technology from FreeYourID’s proprietary DNS resolution platform, Advanced Transaction Look-up and Signaling platform (ATLAS), that is used to ensure uninterrupted service for the .com and .net registries to run your DNS. ATLAS is faster, more reliable and more secure than the industry standard for DNS resolution.

Traffic Management Features

• Failover Service
  Monitors your website to determine service health and provide failover to back-up IP addresses or CNAMES. The interval time for failover decisions can be set on a per-host name basis.
• Geo-Location Services
  Provides a DNS response based on the user’s geographic location. This helps enterprises globally load-balance users and enables the delivery of location-specific content.
• Weighted Load Balancing
  Enables enterprises to balance user traffic among multiple, potentially geographically dispersed or cloud-based servers by responding with different authoritative responses each time a particular query is received (The enterprise specifies the percentage of time each response is given, allowing one to control the relative amount of traffic each server receives.

• Two Factor Authentication
  Enhances security to your accounts by requiring a one-time password or token in addition to standard usernames
• DNNSEC
  An essential feature that helps to bolster the security and performance of enterprise network services by ensuring the authenticity of DNS responses to avoid cache poisoning. When activated, zones will be automatically signed and managed thus removing the administrative burden typically associated with DNSSEC.
• Zone Restore
  Protects against user error or malicious changes by allowing one to roll back zone changes to an earlier time.
